Course Description

We will study the relationship between production and perception of sounds of human language and the acoustic representation that permits phonetic study. The course will concentrate on variability and invariability of a speech signal. We will also look at hypo- and hyper-articulation and what this implies when studying language production and acoustic sound signals.

  • Capacity to apply analytical techniques on natural language data
  • Ability to identify fundamental phonological properties

Prerequisites

  • The courses for the first semester of the master do not have prerequisites other than those defined for the specialisation

  • Analyse a problem before processing written or spoken data through information technology
  • Combine and utilise interdisciplinary skills and know-how in the aims of creating innovative solutions
