Application Process for the MSc in NLP

Eligibility Requirements

Year 1 – Master 1 (M1)

To apply for Year 1 (« Master 1 »), you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Academic qualifications: You must hold a « Bac+3 » (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree) or a qualification worth 180 ECTS credits in computer science, mathematics, and/or linguistics or related fields. Applications may be submitted before receiving the diploma, but acceptance will be conditional upon its successful completion.
  • English Proficiency: Applicants must submit an official certification (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC) demonstrating English language proficiency at C1 or C2 level.
  • Motivation letter: The Admissions Committee places significant importance on your motivation letter. It should reflect your understanding of the programme, its applications, and your genuine interest in the field.
  • Supporting documents: While not mandatory, other relevant documents (e.g., certifications, proof of success for online courses) will strengthen your application.

 

Year 2 – Master 2 (M2)

Admission to M2 is highly selective and reserved for candidates with significant prior expertise in NLP. Applicants are encouraged to apply for M1 for a comprehensive experience and better integration into the programme.

Year 1 – Master 1 (M1)

  • Students living outside of the European Union: Apply via Études en France.
  • Students living inside of the European Union: Apply via Mon Master.
  • International students living in France: Apply via Mon Master.

Year 2 – Master 2 (M2)

  • Students living outside of the European Union: Apply via Études en France.
  • Students living inside of the European Union: Apply via e-candidat.
  • International students living in France: Apply via e-candidat.

Required Documents

Ensure your application includes:

  • A valid photo ID.
  • Copies of diplomas or certificates (with certified translations into English or French, if applicable).
  • Academic transcripts:
    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent, 180 ECTS).
    • Current studies (if applicable).
    • Final two years of secondary education.
  • A detailed CV.
  • A motivation letter.
  • Proof of English proficiency (minimum C1 level).
  • Justifications for any gaps in academic history (e.g., employment contracts).
  • Course descriptions or syllabi from prior studies.
  • At least one referral letter.
Important: Incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.
